Bill Mitchell has served as State Representative since 1999. He represents the 101stHouse District, which includes all or portions of the following counties: Champaign, DeWitt, Macon, McLean & Piatt.
A life-long resident of Macon County, Bill Mitchell comes from a farm family. Bill was educated in Decatur schools and is a graduate of Eastern Illinois University, where he earned a B.A. in Political Science.
Representative Mitchell previously served on the Decatur City Council and was Decatur Mayor Pro Tem from 1997-1998. Bill is a former Macon County Republican Chairman.
In the Illinois General Assembly, Representative Mitchell serves on several key committees, including: Housing; Health & Healthcare Disparities; Elementary & Secondary Education; Environment; Transportation: Vehicles & Safety.
