The Business Center of Influence

Ambassadors

We represent Chamber members to encourage and support the growth of McLean County business.

 

What We Do:

We promote and support the mission of the McLean County Chamber of Commerce as the "Business Center of Influence" to our members, our business leaders, our government officials, and our county.  We are active listeners, participants, and business advocates.  Most importantly, we are the conduit of influence providing feedback to Chamber staff and knowledge to our members.

 

Why We Do:

We do because we care: we care about people, our local economy, and our community at large. 

 

Requisites:

  • Employee of a Chamber member in good standing
  • High level of motivation
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • High level of professionalism
  • Positive attitude
  • Working knowledge of programs and services offered by the McLean County Chamber of Commerce

 

Desired Qualities:

  • Enthusiasm
  • Flexibility with your work and/or personal schedule
  • Strong sense of commitment
  • Strong interest in promoting the business community of McLean County
  • Team Player outlook

 

Responsibilities:

  • Represent the Chamber in a professional, positive manner
  • Recruitment and/or provide Leads to the membership director (minimum of 2 per year)
  • Work with other Ambassadors and Chamber Liaison to complete the 8 step retention program
  • Hosting of all Chamber networking events
  • Facilitate networking at Chamber events
  • Promotion of Chamber events
  • Facilitation of ribbon cutting, groundbreaking, and open house programs hosted by our members
  • Deliver welcome packets to assigned new members (minimum of one per month)
    • Ensure New Member Visit Checklist is completed and returned to Chamber Liaison
  • Provide information on member benefits to new & existing members or direct them to the appropriate staff person (Including Networking, ECHI, Government Affairs, Education Opportunities, McLean County Cash, Women's Division, neXt Professionals, ECT...)
  • Communicate member feedback to Chamber staff
  • Attend Ambassador meetings a minimum of six times per year (The 1st Wednesday of each month at noon)
  • Attend a minimum of 3 ribbon cuttings, groundbreakings, or open houses every 8 weeks
  • Attend a minimum of 3 Business Before Hours & Business After Hours events every quarter
