Networking

Networking is the lifeblood of any Chamber of Commerce. It's the perfect opportunity to meet and make connections with people and businesses that can benefit you personally and professionally for years to come.

 

The McLean County Chamber of Commerce offers a number of regularly-scheduled networking events.

  • Business Before and After Hours are monthly get-togethers that are open to all Chamber member employees at no cost to themselves. In 2010, each of these networking events averaged more than 125 participants, who connected and socialized while enjoying the amazing hospitality of the host members. Watch the home page of the Chamber web site in late summer for your opportunity to host a Business Before or After Hours networking event in 2012.
     
  • SPEEDnet and SPEEDnet in the Morning are networking opportunities patterned after speed dating. Each of the 20 participants gets three minutes with every other participant: 1.5 minutes to talk, 1.5 minutes to listen. The goal is: By the end of an hour, partcipants will have given out 19 business cards and met 19 potential clients. Only one person per industry is allowed, so RSVPs are paramount! Contact Dawn Smiley at 829-6344 to reserve a place at SPEEDnet.
