McLean County Chamber of Commerce Awarded 5 Star Re-Accreditation from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce
Bloomington, IL — The McLean County Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce that it has been awarded a 5
Star Re-Accreditation from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce for its sound policies, effective organizational
procedures, and positive impact on the community. The Chamber first received a 5 Star accreditation status in
2017. The accreditation is the highest attainable and is valid for a period of five years.
"We are extremely honored to have been re-accredited as a 5 Star Chamber by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce,"
said President & CEO Charlie Moore. "Months of work go into providing extensive evidence of the work we do on
behalf of our members. I am proud of our team and the success this designation represents. Our members can be
confident that we are doing critical work to grow the business community and create economic prosperity."
“I want to extend my highest congratulations to the Chamber staff for their hard work and dedication in earning a 5
Star Accreditation from the U.S. Chamber,” said Chamber Board Chairman and Vice President of Human Resources
at Carle Health Tony Coletta. “As Chairman of the Board it means a great deal to have the leading independent
authority put a stamp of excellence on our Chamber’s work. I see this as a testament to the value the Chamber and
its team brings to the business community.”
“Accredited chambers of commerce are impactful advocates for the business community,” said Raymond P. Towle,
U.S. Chamber Vice President, Federation Relations and IOM. “When chambers of commerce earn the distinction
of becoming Accredited, it is a mark of excellence for the organization, its staff, and its leadership. This rigorous
review includes all aspects of a chamber’s policies, operations, and programming. Accredited chambers are
recognized for their ability to serve as a resource to their region’s businesses while maintaining transparent
governance practices, sound financial controls, safe work environments, effective communications, and value in
programming. It is an extraordinary accomplishment.”
About Accreditation:
The purpose of the U.S. Chamber's Accreditation Program is to facilitate continuing excellence in the chamber
industry and to foster a pro-business environment across America. In order to receive Accreditation, a chamber
must meet minimum standards in their operations and programs, including areas of governance, government affairs,
communications, and technology. This extensive self-review can take 6-9 months to complete.
Local chambers are rated Accredited, 3-Stars, 4-Stars, or 5-Stars. State chambers are recognized as either
Accredited State Chamber or Accredited State Chamber with Distinction. The final determination is made by the
Accrediting Board, a committee of U.S. Chamber board members.
