The Immigration Project
The Immigration Project (TIP) expands access to accurate, dignified immigration legal services for underserved immigrants and refugees across downstate Illinois, offering consultations, case representation, workshops, and social-service support that keep families stable and informed. Its services include universal representation for unaccompanied minors, crisis intervention, mental-health counseling, and financial assistance that helps prevent homelessness and supports immigrant households during emergencies. TIP has a 30-year history in McLean County, beginning with legal clinics in Bloomington after its founding in 1995, then relocating its headquarters to Bloomington in 2008 and later to Normal, positioning the county as the hub of immigration legal services for the entire region. Throughout its history, TIP has partnered with local organizations to advance welcoming policies, including helping draft and pass the Town of Normal’s 2018 welcoming ordinance.
