McLean County Chamber of Commerce Hosts First Women in Business Conference

BLOOMINGTON, IL – The McLean County Chamber of Commerce welcomed over 100+ women from across Central Illinois to its 2026 Women in Business Conference, presented by Beam Philanthropy Partners, on June 25th at the Parke Regency Hotel & Conference Center. This first event themed "Navigating Change," brought together professionals, entrepreneurs, executives, and emerging leaders for a day of inspiration, professional development, and meaningful networking.

The conference focused on helping attendees navigate personal and professional transitions with confidence, resilience, and purpose. Throughout the day, participants engaged in educational sessions, connected with local businesses and exhibitors, expanded their professional networks, and gained practical tools to apply in their careers and communities.

The day began with networking, breakfast, and an exhibitor showcase, followed by a keynote presentation from Jessica Maren titled “Bouncing Forward: How to Propel Forward Through Failure.” Maren challenged attendees to reframe setbacks as opportunities for growth and shared research-based strategies for building resilience and maintaining hope during times of change.

"You will not be able to avoid hurting, but you can get better at bouncing forward," said Jessica Maren.

Attendees then participated in breakout sessions led by accomplished business and community leaders. Topics included overcoming perfectionism and taking action, finding the courage to embrace new opportunities, strengthening financial wellness, and reinventing oneself through life’s challenges. Each session offered actionable insights and real-world experiences designed to help women lead more confidently in both their personal and professional lives.

The conference also featured a moderated panel discussion led by Aimee Beam, Founder and Presenting Sponsor of Beam Philanthropy Partners. Panelists included Dr. Jeri Beggs, Director of Athletics at Illinois State University; Rachel Simon, Behavioral Health Therapist with OSF Medical Group; Denise Moore, CEO & Founder of Minority Business Development Center; and keynote speaker Jessica Maren, Marketing Strategist & Author. The panel explored leadership, resilience, mental wellness, career growth, and the importance of community support while navigating change.

"You could feel the power and synergy as smart, thoughtful women gathered to learn and support each other," said Aimee Beam, Owner of Beam Philanthropy Partners & Presenting Sponsor, "We’ve started a powerful new tradition in Central Illinois!”

In addition to educational programming, attendees enjoyed complimentary professional headshots, networking opportunities throughout the day, a WERQ Dance Fitness break lead by Four Seasons Health Club, raffle giveaways, and a cocktail reception that encouraged continued conversation and connection.

"We recognized a gap in Central Illinois for women to come together in a meaningful way, to build relationships, expand their networks, and access professional development opportunities designed specifically for them. Through our Women Elevate Women resource group, we saw firsthand the impact of creating spaces where women can learn from and support one another," said Lily Hoops, Sr. Manager of Programs & Events. "The Women in Business Conference was a natural extension of that vision, and the level of engagement throughout the event demonstrated just how valuable these opportunities are."

The McLean County Chamber of Commerce extends its appreciation to the speakers, panelists, sponsors, exhibitors, volunteers, and attendees who made the 2026 Women in Business Conference a success.
