Springfield, IL – The Illinois Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives (IACCE) has selected the McLean County Chamber of Commerce in Bloomington, IL for the 2024 IACCE Outstanding Chamber of the Year Award. The award recognizes organization excellence in chambers of commerce and provides a unique benchmarking opportunity to assess a chamber’s strengths. The award is based on the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s accreditation process for local chambers and highlights accomplishments in the areas of leadership, governance, finance, advocacy, and membership development. Earlier in 2024 the McLean County Chamber was re-accredited with the highest rating of five stars putting them in the top 3% of Chambers nationally.
“The McLean County Chamber of Commerce, under the leadership of President & CEO Charlie Moore, IOM, CCE, impressed the judges with their programs and outreach,” noted one of the judges. “The Chamber is addressing critical local economic challenges, focusing on workforce shortages and limited housing options.”
“Through its workforce subsidiary, COMPACT, the Chamber collaborates with schools, colleges, businesses, and government officials to address workforce needs. In housing, the Chamber advocates for diverse housing projects, participating in community forums and conversations to drive positive change,” said Rudy Flores, IOM, 2024 IACCE Board Chair and President of the Lincoln Square/Ravenswood Chamber of Commerce (Chicago). “These efforts strengthen and drive future growth in the Bloomington-Normal community.”
“We are honored to be named the 2024 Illinois Outstanding Chamber of the Year for all the mission-driven work we have done for our members this year,” said Charlie Moore, President & CEO, McLean County Chamber of Commerce. “This year has been one of great growth. Certainly growth in our program of work, but most importantly growth of our members’ success.” "Our team deserves the credit for all the hard work they put in to earn the Outstanding Chamber of the Year Award and fulfill our core value of being a member-centric, community-minded Chamber,” said Tyler Cravens, Chief Operating Officer, McLean County Chamber of Commerce. “We couldn’t do the work we do without our members and we thank them for continued support.”
