McLean County Chamber of Commerce Celebrates 125 Years of Service to Local Business Community

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. — On Thursday, September 11th the McLean County Chamber of Commerce proudly celebrated 125 years of serving and strengthening the local community. The milestone event highlighted the Chamber’s legacy, recognized the partners who make their work possible, and looked ahead to an exciting future.

Chamber President & CEO Charlie Moore opened the program by thanking members for their continued engagement, investment, and belief in the McLean County business community.

“We are only here because of you, our members and partners,” Moore said. “From solopreneurs to our largest employers, every business matters, and every person matters. Together, we’ve built a Chamber recognized nationally for excellence and commitment to local growth.”

The event highlighted the Chamber’s achievements, including recognition as a 5-Star Accredited Chamber by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and being named 2024 Illinois Chamber of the Year. Special thanks were extended to presenting sponsor Employers Coalition for Healthcare (ECHI), platinum sponsor Sam Leman Automotive Group, and the Chamber’s Cornerstone Members for their leadership investments.

Following Charlie Moore’s presentation was 2025 Board Chair Meghan O’Neal- Rogozinski who reflected on the Chamber’s history. She recognized past board chairs and businesses that have been Chamber Members for 10, 15, 25, and 35+ years.

“This week is Illinois Chamber of Commerce Week, making it the perfect time to celebrate 125 years of business leadership and community partnership,” O’Neal- Rogozinski said. “Bloomington-Normal continues to shine as a place where people can build lives, grow careers, and thrive.”

The celebration included proclamations from both the City of Bloomington and the Town of Normal, a festive video wall showcasing Chamber history, live music from The Rusty Pickups, and interactive Chamber Bingo Card. Instead of a traditional ribbon cutting, guests joined in a Champagne toast and ceremonial cake cutting to mark the occasion.

Attendees also received commemorative anniversary gifts as a token of appreciation for their continued support.

The Chamber’s 125th anniversary serves not only as a moment of reflection but also as a commitment to continued innovation and service to McLean County’s business community.
